Down we go into the wine cellar.
No mouthwatering menu would be complete without outstanding wines. Simply follow the winding stairs to discover our underground cave of wonders.

Enticing bouquets.
Good vintages don’t grow on trees – although one could argue they do grow in vineyards. However, at the end of the day, anyone can simply choose an expensive wine. What makes the difference when choosing a label is one’s knowledge, willingness to engage with vintners and taste their bottles. That’s how we can offer our guests a range of truly remarkable wines sourced from small vintners to independent companies.

At the Gran Ander, Evelin is the sommelier and wine connoisseur who has the final say on everything wine. Including what goes in our menu. A consummate professional who doesn’t buy just based on pretty labels, she finds enticing bouquets and most of them are local, organic, Italian – although she does have a penchant for French terroirs.

Wine pairing sessions.
Our guests’ evenings are never the same, at least when it comes to the wine menu, which is always being updated. Besides that, Evelin and Andreas also organise small and flavourful wine pairing sessions in the wine cellar. A veritable lesson in applied physics – yes, because these sessions are masterclasses in how to marry delicious morsels of food with chalices swirling with sweet ambrosia, a rainbow of colours reflecting the wine’s high quality. And the sound of clinking glasses raised in a toast blend together with each new pairing.

Mementos and gifts.
Guests can always find gifts for themselves or their loved ones. After spending some time in a place, having a memento which brings backs good memories or to share with fellow bon vivants truly is priceless.
