Hospitality is a gift.

We embody hospitality like nobody else.

Once upon a time, the here and now.

Our story starts in 1896, with the birth of Nonna Anna. A sublime cook with an innate gift for hospitality. Her son, Germano, followed in her footsteps, preparing gourmet delights in the most renowned kitchens in the world, from the USA to Morocco, from Switzerland to Germany, delighting guests in Venice, Cortina, and Paris.

Gran Ander – our home.

The prodigal son returned in 1968 to transform his childhood home into everyone’s home away from home, helped by his wife Rita, who boasts over 20 years’ experience working in hotels in Val Badia. The Gran Ander is thus born. Its name? In Ladin, it means vast cave, an homage to the one hidden in the Gardenaccia, the mountain overlooking the hotel.

We treasure simplicity.

Andrea is the firstborn, followed by twins Barbara and Ellen. Over the years, the hotel grows – as do the next generations. Andrea followed in his father’s footsteps and cooks with creativity and aplomb.

The years pass, and he meets Evelin, sommelier extraordinaire. They go on to have three children: Maximilian, Tommy e Lena, who are now adults, and Maximilian is already working his magic behind the stoves. This is who we are, keepers and purveyors of simplicity and sobriety. We do things well, without feeling the need to show off –so that our guests can truly benefit from their stay with us.
